SPIRAL
Graphite and charcoal on paper
21.0 x 29.7 cm
The drawing “Spiral” is part of a series titled “Art about Art,” through which I explore various facets of my artistic practice.
In this piece, the spiral staircase serves as a metaphor for growth in my artistic development. From a certain perspective, the spiral appears to lead back to the same spot, suggesting a repetitive cycle of encountering the same challenges. This cyclical nature can be frustrating, as it sometimes feels like progress is elusive. However, with each repetition, I am not starting from scratch. Instead, I am approaching the problem from a higher level, armed with greater knowledge and experience. The staircase symbolizes my artistic journey, illustrating that even when it feels like I'm going in circles, each loop represents another step forward in my evolution.
